Our School

Welcome from Our Principal

Dalyellup Primary School enjoys a strong reputation that is characterised by a sense of belonging and strong pastoral care practices. The students are at the centre of the school’s strategic direction and decision making. Upon entering the school one immediately notices the warmth and care the staff have for every student and their family. The Independent Public School review, 2019, noted ‘Respect and equal partnerships’ as a strength. The collegiality between staff is exemplary as the team works to collaboratively meet the needs of the students. Their genuine desire to be a part of a highly effective team is one of the reasons the school attracts quality staff with broad experience.

Dalyellup Primary School
History

Dalyellup Primary School is located in the picturesque tree filled estate of Dalyellup Beach Estate, some 12 kilometres south of Bunbury in the south west of WA. The school was established in 2001 as a school in shops as part of an innovative plan by the Education Department to fast track a Primary School in the estate.

In 2004, the school moved into its current site, characterised by state of the art facilities and a fibre optic backbone to facilitate the development of a high speed Information Technology network.

In 2009, in order to cater for rapidly growing numbers, Dalyellup Primary School amalgamated with the newly completed Dalyellup College to become one school that catered for students from Kindergarten to Year 8 across 2 sites.

Over the next few years, this grew to become a Kindergarten to Year 11 site that eventually separated at the end of 2012 to once again, become two separate schools in their own right.

Numbers at Dalyellup Primary School have now stabilised, thanks to the development of the newly constructed Tuart Forest Primary School, some 1.5 kilometres to the east.  Specialist programs in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Physical Education, AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language),  Technology, Enrichment and Learning Support are now well entrenched in the school’s programs.
